Steampunk Cameo Necklace, Emerald Necklace, Green Gold Tourmaline Necklace, Art Nouveau, Sterling Silver, Gemstone, Steampunk Luxury Wedding

Extravagance and beauty blend harmoniously for this one of a kind necklace.  My inspiration for this piece can be attributed to my love of all things vintage and antiquian.  With a futuristic Steampunk feel and Victorian vibe, each item I create is designed to not only look good, but also to make you 'feel good' wearing it.  The utmost attention to detail and functionality is taken to ensure that your necklace is extremely durable yet incredibly comfortable to wear.

SPECIFICATIONS-

The chain used for this piece is Sterling Silver. Sterling Silver is 92.5% Silver and 7.5 % other metals (usually copper). Sterling silver is usually used in jewelry as it aesthetically resembles fine silver but it is harder and therefore sturdier for everyday wear. If you have metal allergies, please be aware that you may turn green.

All of the design elements used in this necklace are Sterling plated. This plating process involves bonding an extremely thin layer of sterling silver to a base metal; most commonly used are copper and brass. Once the metal is plated with either Sterling Silver, Gold, or Platinum, it is less likely for the wearer to experience metal allergies. However, it does happen-especially when the plated coating wears off over time (as it will) or if the person wearing the jewelry has very severe metal allergies. Please be aware of this (as you may turn green)!

Emeralds are fascinating gemstones. They have the most beautiful, most intense and most radiant green that can possibly be imagined: emerald green. Inclusions are tolerated. In top quality, fine emeralds are even more valuable than diamonds.  The Incas and Aztecs of South America, where the best emeralds are still found today, regarded the emerald as a holy gemstone. Because of their allure and longstanding history within our civilization, Emeralds are often referred to as the 'lucky stone'.

Tourmalines are gems with an incomparable variety of colors. The reason, according to an old Egyptian legend, is that the tourmaline, on its long journey up from the center of the Earth, passed over a rainbow. In doing so, it assumed all the colors of the rainbow. And that is why it is still referred to as the 'gemstone of the rainbow' today.  Tourmaline displays a greater range of colors than any other known gemstone and thus holds a special place in the hearts of jewelry designers and gemstone enthusiasts everywhere. Sri Lanka is considered the place were tourmaline was first found several centuries ago. While gem quality tourmaline is still found there, the biggest suppliers of tourmaline today are Brazil, Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, Madagascar and Afghanistan.

The Antique Pocket watch is made up of your typical white base metals. If you have metal allergies, please be aware that you may turn green.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS-

Because your jewelry is made from various metals, I strongly suggest keeping it dry- that means no swimming with it! However, if you simply cannot resist bringing your new amazing jewelry to the beach, please make sure to dry it off thoroughly with a soft towel or cloth before putting it away to prevent rust from forming.

If over time you find the Sterling Silver tarnishing, which is perfectly normal, gently wipe it down wither a silver polishing cloth (available at most General Purpose stores in the jewelry section or online). They are incredibly cheap and last a very long time.

To keep your gemstones looking their best, I highly recommend getting you piece professionally cleaned by your local jeweler. However, you may occasionally wipe it down with a damp non-abrasive cloth. If extra cleansing is required, a tiny amount of plain white bar soap may be used. Just be sure to wipe off all of the soap residue once finished, and let the jewelry air dry thoroughly! Please note, that by deciding to clean your own jewelry you are doing so at your own risk (as there is always the possibility to damaging the gemstones/metals).

Your new jewelry will arrive in a specially treated plastic zip top back to prevent moisture and environmental wear on the piece.
In the clear bag, you will also find a tiny black carbon square which has been specially treated to keep moisture at bay. You should always store your fine jewelry in this bag, or another storage system designed specifically for precious metals, to keep your jewelry looking sparkly and bright!
In a year or two you will notice your black carbon tab turning light grey. It is now time to replace the piece. Please contact me and I will send you an additional carbon tab free of charge.
